The JD/Master of Environmental Law and Policy program prepares students for a wide range of legal and policy positions with private law firm and other businesses, the nonprofit sector, and government.
JD/MELP alumni are important players in government agencies, including the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in Washington, D.C., and regional EPA offices across the country, many state environmental agencies, and the U.S. Department of Justice. They work at nonprofit organizations such as the Natural Resources Defense Council, Sierra Club, Conservation Law Foundation, and Southern Environmental Law Center.
Across the nation and abroad, JD/Master of Environmental Law and Policy graduates work in both large and small law firms, focusing on environmental litigation and environmental compliance. They serve as CEOs, in-house counsels, and environmental consultants for private firms such as General Electric, Atlantic Richfield, and Tyco.
